Akpabio: Opposition Confusion Will Last Until 2027 Elections

Godswill Akpabio, the current Senate President, expressed that opposition parties in Nigeria will continue to experience confusion until the conclusion of the 2027 general elections. He made these remarks during a reception in Uyo held in honor of Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady.

Akpabio highlighted that the opposition's internal disarray is evident as they prepare for political activities ahead of the timeline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which is August 26, 2026. He criticized the opposition for failing to establish order within their ranks, pointing out leadership disputes that have led to divisions, such as the formation of the Labour Party.

Akpabio noted that the opposition's attempts to mobilize and organize themselves across Nigeria have not been effective, as they have not even completed their party registrations, which contributes to their ongoing confusion leading up to the elections.
