Ndume: Opposition Lacks Unity to Challenge Tinubu in 2027

Ali Ndume, a senator representing Borno South, stated that the opposition is not united enough to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections. During an appearance on Thursday, Ndume expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would maintain its power beyond 2027.

He remarked that the opposition, including figures like Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, and Peter Obi, has not presented any fresh ideas or clear strategies capable of defeating the APC. Ndume highlighted that despite the presence of prominent opposition figures, they struggle to coordinate effectively, which undermines their potential to challenge the ruling party.

He noted that the opposition appears fragmented, particularly within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and that individual ambitions among members make it less convincing. Ndume cautioned against underestimating any opponent, recalling that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) had previously contested against the APC and won in the past.
