Headies 2022 Organizers Petition Police Over Singer Portable's Death Threats

The organizers of the prestigious Headies awards in Nigeria have lodged a petition with the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, regarding threats made by singer Portable to kill nominees. Portable, also known as Habeeb Okikiola, allegedly made the threats in a video posted on social media, causing concern for the safety of the nominees.

The organizers are demanding a retraction from Portable and a written apology to the affected nominees. Failure to comply may result in Portable's disqualification from participating in the upcoming 15th edition of the Headies awards.

The police have been invited to ensure that Portable does not engage in any unlawful acts that could disrupt the peace.
