Oshiomhole Critiques Akpabio's Senate Leadership Style

During a podcast interview, Adams Oshiomhole, a senator representing Edo North, remarked on the strained relationship between himself and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, suggesting that Akpabio perceives him as "the devil he knows." Oshiomhole's comments reflect growing dissatisfaction among lawmakers regarding Akpabio's leadership style. He noted that Akpabio often appears uneasy when engaging with colleagues on the Senate floor.

The tension within the Senate has escalated, particularly following discussions about financial discrepancies involving the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC). Oshiomhole supported a motion to arrest former NNPC Group Chief Executive Officer Mele Kyari for failing to appear before lawmakers investigating the company's financial records.

The Senate's Public Accounts Committee is currently examining audit reports covering the years 2017 to 2023, raising concerns over unresolved financial discrepancies amounting to N210 trillion.
