Osimhen fit and ready to trouble Barcelona, Galatasaray coach warns

Victor Osimhen is available and primed to exploit Barcelona's defensive vulnerabilities when Galatasaray hosts the Spanish club in a UEFA Champions League group stage match on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at Rams Park in Istanbul. Galatasaray assistant coach Ismael Garcia Gomez disclosed that the Nigerian striker has fully recovered from a groin injury that sidelined him for over a month and has already returned to competitive action with an 18-minute appearance.

Garcia Gomez highlighted Osimhen's speed, power and movement as specific qualities that could create problems for Barcelona's high defensive line under head coach Hansi Flick. The coaching staff views the Super Eagles international as a decisive player whose characteristics match perfectly with their tactical approach against the Spanish giants.

Osimhen's availability marks a significant boost for Galatasaray after their recent struggles without him in the lineup. Off the pitch, Osimhen was spotted arriving at Galatasaray's Florya Oktay Metin training facility in Istanbul in a black Ferrari 296 GTB valued at approximately 50 million Turkish Lira, or around ₦800 million.

For the striker whose annual salary exceeds ₦30 billion, the luxury sports car represents a modest portion of his earnings. The display reflects Osimhen's known preference for premium vehicles and high-end lifestyle choices.

Kick-off for the match is scheduled for 8 PM local time on Tuesday. Garcia Gomez confirmed Osimhen had completed full training sessions following his brief reintroduction to match play, signalling his readiness for the contest against Flick's side.
