APC's Oyebamiji Names Adereti as Running Mate for 2026

Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026, has selected Benjamin Adereti as his running mate. Adereti was a candidate for the House of Representatives in the 2023 elections, representing the APC, where he was defeated by Bimbo Ajilesoro of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

This nomination replaces a previous candidate listed with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which included Tunde Olatunji as a deputy governorship candidate. The final list of candidates will be released by INEC on March 4, 2026, confirming participation from 14 political parties in the upcoming election.

Other notable candidates include Najeem Salaam from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Ademola Adeleke, the incumbent governor, who will run with Kola Adewusi. The PDP and Labour Party (LP) are not included in the candidate list for this election.
