APC's Oyebamiji Names Adereti as Running Mate for 2026

Bola Oyebamiji, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), has announced Benjamin Adereti as his running mate for the upcoming 2026 Osun State governorship election. Adereti previously contested for a House of Representatives seat in 2023 but lost to Bimbo Ajilesoro of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released the final list of candidates on Wednesday, which included 14 political parties. Other notable candidates include Najeem Salaam from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the incumbent governor Ademola Adeleke, who will run with Kola Adewusi.

The governorship election is scheduled for August 15, 2026, with the last day for publicizing the final list of nominated candidates set for March 9, 2026. The INEC's final list will be forwarded in accordance with Section 32(1) of the Electoral Act.
