Osun APC Criticizes Adeleke's Remarks on Violence

The Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council, led by Director General Wole Oke, condemned statements made by Governor Ademola Adeleke regarding potential violence in the state if he loses the August 15 governorship election. The APC described Adeleke's remarks as 'reckless, inflammatory, and seditious.' In response, the Imole Campaign Council, which is managing Adeleke's reelection bid, asserted that his comments were misinterpreted and aimed to ensure free and fair elections.

The Accord Campaign Council, represented by Director General Lere Oyewumi, denied allegations that Adeleke attacked President Bola Tinubu, stating he only urged the President to address ongoing repression in Osun. The council criticized Adeleke for making unfounded claims about federal allocations being withheld from local governments in Osun, asserting that such statements were false and a distraction from his administration's performance.

They also highlighted violence against APC members allegedly linked to Adeleke's administration.
