Osun APC to Review Court Ruling on Electoral Commission Chairman Appointment

The Osun APC is set to review a court ruling on the appointment of Hashim Abioy as the chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) after a suit challenging his appointment was dismissed by the Federal High Court in Osogbo. The court cited lack of jurisdiction and failure to serve a pre-action notice to the Osun State House of Assembly as reasons for the dismissal.

The suit also involved key figures like Adefunmilola Demi Ajayi and Governor Ademola Adeleke. The APC sought to restrain Abioy from acting as OSSIEC chairman and declared that Governor Adeleke cannot nominate the OSSIEC boss.
