Osun Governor Adeleke Orders APC Officials to Vacate Local Government Secretariats

Osun State Governor Adeleke has directed APC officials to vacate local government secretariats across the state after a court judgment nullified the APC-led local government elections conducted in November 2022. The Governor emphasized the need for compliance with the court ruling, which upheld the nullification of the elections on February 10 and further reaffirmed on June 13, 2025.

Adeleke announced plans for the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission to conduct fresh local government elections on February 22, 2025, to elect new chairmen and councillors. He accused former APC officials of forcefully occupying the secretariats and emphasized the expiration of their tenures in October 2025.

Governor Adeleke condemned reports of local government workers being harassed and assured residents of upholding the rule of law to protect citizens' rights and safety.
