Osun Assembly Approves Bill to Modernize Motor Park Management

On September 23, 2026, the Osun State House of Assembly passed the Osun State Integrated Transport, Traffic and Park Management System Bill. Sponsored by Abiola Waheed, Chairman of the House Committee on Works and Transport, the bill aims to introduce a digital ticketing system to eliminate multiple ticketing in motor parks.

This initiative is designed to reduce burdens on transport operators, enhance transparency, and improve revenue collection for the state government. The bill also seeks to protect passengers and promote accountability within the transport sector.

Following extensive deliberation, the bill was reviewed by the House Committee on Works and Transport and the Legal Department. The report was adopted after a motion moved by Majority Leader Hon. Babajide Kofoworola Adewumi and seconded by Hon. Sikiru Bajepade.

Speaker Adewale Egbedun stated that the bill's passage strengthens the transport sector and promotes efficient management of motor parks. The clean copy will be forwarded to the Executive Governor of Osun State for assent.
