Osun Assembly Enacts Transport Management Bill, 2026

On September 23, 2026, the Osun State House of Assembly passed the Osun State Integrated Transport, Traffic and Park Management Bill, 2026, during a plenary session following its successful third reading. The bill, sponsored by Abiola Ibrahim, the Chairman of the House Committee on Works and Transport, aims to create a comprehensive management system for the transport sector, focusing on motor park administration, traffic management, and revenue collection.

Ibrahim highlighted that the legislation would enhance the organization of revenue collection from motor parks, prevent revenue leakages, and promote a digital ticketing system. The bill also includes provisions to combat thuggery, violence, and extortion in motor parks.

The Speaker of the House, Adewale Egbedun, stated that the passage of the bill is part of efforts to establish a coordinated and transparent transport management system in Osun State. The final copy of the bill will be sent to Osun State Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke for assent.
