Osun Assembly Enacts Parks Management Bill for Safety

The Osun State House of Assembly has passed the Osun State Integrated Parks Management System Bill, 2026, to enhance the administration of motor parks and promote safety in the state. The bill was approved after the House reviewed and adopted a report from the Committee on Public Works and Transport during a plenary session on Tuesday.

The motion for the bill's passage was moved by the Majority Leader, Hon. Babajide Kofoworola, and seconded by Hon. Sikiru Bajepade, representing the Ila State Constituency. Following this, Hon. Taofeek Olayiwola, representing the Ede South State Constituency, seconded the motion for the bill's passage.

Speaker Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun stated that the legislation aims to benefit motorists and stakeholders in the transport sector, promoting order and safety in motor parks.

The final copy of the legislation will be sent to Governor Ademola Adeleke for assent, completing the legislative process. This initiative is part of broader efforts to address challenges in motor park management in Osun State.
