Osun State Defends Education Infrastructure Claims

On Friday, Mr. Temitop Mustapha, the Chairman of the Osun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), addressed claims regarding inadequate infrastructure and teacher shortages in public primary and secondary schools in Osun State.

Speaking in Osogbo, he asserted that the state government, led by Governor Ademola Adeleke, prioritizes education and ensures that no school, whether in urban or rural areas, will be neglected. Mustapha refuted allegations that rural schools would close down, stating that such claims are false and propagated by enemies of progress.

He highlighted that students in rural areas have excelled in NECO and WASSCE examinations, helping the state improve its national ranking from 30th to 7th. Additionally, he mentioned that newly recruited teachers would be deployed to rural areas to bolster existing staff.

Mustapha urged teachers to prepare adequately for their subjects and emphasized the importance of their roles in the educational system.
