Oba Olatund Falabi, Akire of Ikire, Dies at 91

Oba Olatund Falabi, the Akire of Ikire, has died at the age of 91. His death was announced by Dr.

Esther Okunola, the chairperson of Irewol Local Government, in a statement obtained in Osogbo. The monarch had been briefly ill over the weekend prior to his passing.

Dr. Okunola expressed profound sorrow at the loss of a royal father whose wisdom, courage, and guidance were seen as pillars of unity and progress for the entire Irewol Local Government.

She described the late monarch as a "great elephant," emphasizing the significant impact of his reign, which began in May 1993 and lasted for three decades. Under his leadership, Ikire witnessed economic and political growth, including the establishment of a college and the Osun State University site.

Dr. Okunola extended condolences to the royal family, the Akire Traditional Council, and the people of Ikire, praying for the monarch's eternal rest and acknowledging his lasting legacy.
