Osun State Approves ₦204m Death Benefits for Families

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved the disbursement of ₦204,275,209.80 as death benefits for the next of kin of deceased civil servants in active service. This initiative reaffirms the administration's commitment to the welfare of workers and timely pension payments.

The distribution ceremony, represented by Ayanley Aina, the head of service, confirmed that the amount includes ₦125,631,083.45 for state-level beneficiaries and ₦78,644,126.35 for local government beneficiaries. Governor Adeleke emphasized the administration's focus on fulfilling promises despite financial challenges, noting that a total of ₦882,752,717.50 has been paid in death benefits to 184 beneficiaries across the state since the beginning of the administration.

He criticized previous administrations for failing to adequately address outstanding insurance death benefit obligations and assured that the current administration prioritizes worker welfare and will ensure prompt payment of legitimate entitlements.
