Osun Governor Calls for Vigilance Amid Terror Threats

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has issued a call for public vigilance and ordered a security review in response to planned terrorist attacks targeting places of worship across the state. In a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, while the governor is on vacation in Europe, he urged residents, especially those in border communities, to report any suspicious activities to security agencies.

Adeleke emphasized the importance of community intelligence in mitigating security threats and assured that he would convene a State Security Council meeting upon his return to evaluate the situation and enhance the state’s defensive strategies. He praised the proactive measures taken by the Department of State Services (DSS) and encouraged other security agencies to reassess their operational plans to protect lives and property.

Additionally, he called on traditional rulers to hold local council meetings to identify unknown visitors and secure their areas. Adeleke reaffirmed his administration's commitment to maintaining post-election peace and thwarting any attempts by bandits or terrorists to disrupt public order.
