Osun State Disburses Second Phase Compensation for Iwo Road

The Osun State Government has commenced the second phase of compensation payments for property owners affected by the ongoing Iwo township road dualization project. The compensation was disbursed on Wednesday, led by Tope Falop, the Director of Acquisition and Compensation in the Ministry of Lands.

The payments were made despite the state's financial constraints, with the government assuring beneficiaries of its commitment to settling outstanding compensations as quickly as possible. A total of 67 claimants received varying sums in this second tranche, which includes entities such as Ansar Ud Deen Central Mosque and Methodist Church.

Earlier, the government had compensated 127 claimants in the first tranche released a few months ago. Governor Ademola Adeleke announced that the dualization project, which is set to be completed in 2024, will enhance the infrastructure of Iwo, making it the first town in the state to have a dual carriageway.
