Eric Chelle Commits to Super Eagles Amid Algeria Speculation

Eric Chelle, the current coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles, has reaffirmed his commitment to the team amid speculation linking him to the Algeria national team. Bukola Olopade, the Director of the National Sports Commission, stated that Chelle is focused on his project with the Super Eagles and that concerns about his future are unfounded.

Chelle has yet to sign an improved contract extension, but negotiations are in progress as his current contract is set to expire at the end of the year. His performance has been notable, managing 25 matches with a record of 10 wins, including a victory against Egypt in a penalty shootout for third place in the 2025 AFCON.

Chelle's monthly salary request is reported to be $130,000, while the National Sports Commission is expected to offer $100,000. He is also anticipated to lead Nigeria's U-23 men's team for the 2028 Olympic Games, aiming to improve Nigeria's performance in international tournaments.
