Osun Police Arrest Adeyemo Mukaila for Alleged Rape

The Osun State Police Command arrested a 45-year-old man named Adeyemo Mukaila for the alleged rape of a young girl in Ikire, located in the Irewole Local Government Area. The police spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, issued a statement on behalf of Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Zungura, detailing that Mukaila was a friend of the victim’s grandmother and frequently visited their home.

The abuse reportedly occurred on two occasions. The first incident took place in September 2026 when Mukaila called the victim to retrieve items for him.

Upon her arrival, he allegedly dragged her into his room and raped her. The second incident occurred on October 2nd, the victim's birthday, when she visited Mukaila to inform him of her birthday and received a gift of one thousand naira (N1,000) from him.

He then demanded a gift in return, leading her to buy biscuits and take them to his workshop, where he again assaulted her in a nearby bush. Commuters who spotted them intervened, pursued Mukaila, and handed him over to the police.

The police urged parents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
