Ogun Police Arrest 20-Year-Old for Alleged Gang-Rape

The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the arrest of a 20-year-old man, Ayomide Kamula, in connection with the alleged gang-rape of a 19-year-old woman in the Oke Sopen area of Ijebu-Igbo. The incident reportedly took place on August 30, 2026, when the victim went to collect a key.

She stated that she was dragged into a building by two men, one of whom she recognized. Following a report lodged by the victim's mother on September 1, 2026, police operatives issued the victim a medical examination form and took her to a hospital for care.

Opeyemi Oluborode, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that a manhunt is underway for the second suspect, Boye Balogun, who remains at large. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.

Bode Ojajuni, the state Commissioner of Police, reiterated the command's commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against sexual offences.
