Oyebanji Congratulates Adeleke on Osun Re-election Victory

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji congratulated Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as Governor of Osun State after winning the August 15, 2026 governorship election, as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday morning. In a statement from his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Oyebanji described Adeleke's victory as a reflection of the majority's wishes among Osun voters.

He emphasized the importance of democracy and urged Adeleke to be magnanimous in victory, encouraging him to include other contestants in efforts to build a prosperous Osun State. Oyebanji also commended President Bola Tinubu for ensuring a fair electoral environment, which he believed reduced tension during the election.

He congratulated Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress candidate, for his role in the contest and praised Osun APC members for their strong performance. Oyebanji acknowledged the efforts of INEC and security agencies in conducting the election and asserted that the election results should not be misconstrued as a reflection of Osun's sentiments towards President Tinubu ahead of the January 2027 elections.
