Oyebanji Congratulates Adeleke on Governorship Victory

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election for another term following his victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship election, as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday morning. In a statement from his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji described Adeleke's win as a reflection of the majority wishes of Osun state voters.

He urged Adeleke to be magnanimous in victory and to engage with other contestants for their input in the new administration. Oyebanji also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ensuring a fair electoral process, which he believed reduced tension during the election.

He congratulated Bola Oyebamiji, the APC candidate, for being a worthy challenger and praised Osun APC members for their efforts. Additionally, he commended INEC and security agencies for their roles in the election, while cautioning that the election results should not be misinterpreted regarding the sentiments of Osun indigenes towards President Tinubu and the upcoming 2027 Presidential elections.
