Key Voting Patterns in Osun State Governorship Election

The Osun State governorship election is set for Saturday, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke contesting under the Accord Party against Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Najeem Salam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The previous election, held on July 16, 2022, saw Adeleke, then representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), secure 403,371 votes (50.14%) against the incumbent Adegboyega Oyetola of the APC, who garnered 375,027 votes (46.62%).

A total of 804,450 valid votes were recorded. The analysis of the 2022 results indicates that certain local government areas (LGAs) significantly influenced the election outcome.

Osogbo recorded the highest valid votes at 54,997, with Adeleke winning 30,401 votes. Olorunda followed with 41,187 votes, where Adeleke also led.

Ife East favored Oyetola, while Iwo and Ifelodun showed competitive results between the candidates.
