Otti Advocates Value Creation for Abia's Future Growth

On August 27, 2026, during a statewide broadcast to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Abia State, Governor Dr. Alex Otti urged citizens to focus on value creation as the primary driver of growth and development, rather than relying on mineral resources. He stressed the responsibility of the current generation to prepare the next for a future centered on innovation and resilience.

Otti announced the end of unpaid gratuities, pledging to pay accumulated arrears dating back to 2001 and ensuring immediate payment for departing workers upon completion of documentation. He celebrated the achievements of his administration over the past three years, including the repair of over 1,000 kilometers of roads, recruitment of thousands of teachers and health workers, and enhancements in education and healthcare.

The governor also mentioned the revitalization of the health insurance program and investments in agriculture and ICT training for youth, aiming to improve food security and access to technology across rural communities.
