Abia State Governor Otti Invites Investors at NBCC Event

On 12 September 2026, Dr. Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State, assured both domestic and international investors that the state is open for business during the 2026 Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) Meet the Governor Series. The event was themed “Repositioning Abia for Enterprise, Industrialisation and Sustainable Economic Growth.” Otti highlighted the ongoing reforms and infrastructure developments that are creating an enabling environment for enterprises.

He attributed Abia's economic growth to the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit of its people, alongside their increasing adoption of technology. Looking towards the future, Otti expressed his vision for Abia to compete globally within the next decade, asserting that the state’s transformation is moving beyond promises.

He noted that 15 percent of the state’s budget is allocated to healthcare, with nine schools completed and 79 undergoing renovation. Additionally, two smart schools have been completed and commissioned, with more under construction.
