APC Chieftain Critiques Abia Governor's Response to Journalist

Paul Ikonn, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governorship candidate in Abia, criticized Governor Alex Otti for his reaction to a question posed by journalist Chika Nwabueze during a media briefing. Ikonn accused Otti of exhibiting dictatorial tendencies after the governor labeled the journalist's inquiry about his administration's performance as "irresponsible" and "stupid." The question sought to address the need for transparency and improvement in governance, particularly regarding infrastructure projects and the economic conditions affecting citizens in Abia.

Ikonn expressed concern that instead of addressing legitimate questions, Otti resorted to personal attacks, which he argued reflects a tendency to silence dissent. He demanded that Otti apologize to the journalist and provide answers to the raised concerns, emphasizing the importance of public officials being accountable and open to scrutiny.
