Abia Governor Alex Otti to Retire After Tenure

Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State, has declared that he will not pursue the presidency or any other elective position after completing his current term. In an interview with Arise TV, Otti stated that he intends to retire from politics entirely, dismissing any future ambitions for roles such as the Senate or local government chairmanship.

He emphasized that he feels he has fulfilled his calling as governor and will step away from political life once his tenure concludes. Otti also addressed the presidential ambitions of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, stating that there is no conflict between them and that Obi would be welcome to campaign in Abia if he chooses to do so.

Otti reiterated his commitment to democratic principles, allowing any candidate, including Atiku Abubakar, to campaign in the state.
