Deji Adeyanju Critiques Moral Decline Among Nigerian Youth

Deji Adeyanju, an activist and lawyer, lamented the moral collapse of Nigerian youth during a podcast episode that circulated widely on Thursday. He criticized the behavior of young women who post nude content on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, and young men who engage in internet fraud, commonly referred to as "yahoo." Adeyanju emphasized that this behavior reflects a generational abandonment of discipline and self-respect, driven by a desire for instant gratification.

He pointed to a report from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that highlighted the involvement of youths aged 15 to 18 in financial crimes, which he described as a public health concern due to the potential spread of diseases. Adeyanju also criticized previous generations for creating conditions that have led to the current moral decay, calling for a stop to the blame game and urging for solutions to the problem.
