“Our state fast becoming kidnapping den” – Nasarawa Assembly raises alarm

The Nasarawa State House Assembly has raised an alarm over the increasing cases of kidnapping in the state, with Speaker Danladi Jatau warning that the trend is turning Nasarawa into a criminal den. The concern was brought up during a plenary session by Solomon Akwashiki, a member representing Lafia Central constituency.

Jatau called on security agencies to enforce laws passed by the assembly to tackle the menace, urging residents to report any suspicious activities to security agents. Lawmakers, including Daniel Ogazi and Suleiman Azara, criticized the security agencies for not effectively implementing the laws to combat kidnapping.

They emphasized the need for a change in tactics to fight the rising kidnapping incidents in the state. The assembly's resolution reflects the growing concern that Nasarawa is fast becoming a hub for kidnappers, posing a serious threat to the safety of its residents.
