Over 100 Opposition Members Join APC, Support Tinubu

More than 100 members from the African Democratic Congress, Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, and Social Democratic Party defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress in Onicha-Igo, Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State. The defectors expressed their support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo ahead of the 2027 general elections.

At the event, prominent APC stakeholders, led by Engineer Friday Michael, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Good Shepherd Hospital, received the new members. Michael highlighted the achievements of the Tinubu and Ododo administrations, stating that the defectors recognized the developmental strides made by the current leadership.

He assured the new members of equal treatment within the party and emphasized the importance of continuity in leadership for sustained development. Daniel Abutu, representing the Deputy Governor, underscored the need for grassroots mobilization to secure victory in the upcoming elections.
