Over 2,000 Nigerian Pilgrims Depart for Makkah Hajj

Over 2,000 Nigerian pilgrims departed from Madinah for Makkah to begin the core rites of Hajj. The movement involved pilgrims from several states, including 427 from Kebbi State, 475 from Jigawa State, 411 from Gombe State, and 554 from Nasarawa State.

The first batch of pilgrims left on Thursday morning, with a second contingent scheduled to continue the movement on Friday evening. Upon their departure, the pilgrims made a stop at Dhul Hulaifah, known as the miqat, to enter the state of ihram and observe necessary rites.

Emotional scenes were witnessed as pilgrims offered farewell prayers and visited the revered Rawdah inside Al-Masjid Nabawi. The transportation to Makkah was arranged for the pilgrims, who are preparing for the main Hajj rituals expected to take place in the holy city.
