U.S. Troops Deployed to Middle East Amid Iran Tensions

Over 3,500 U.S. troops have arrived in the Middle East as tensions with Iran escalate. This deployment includes 2,500 Marines from the USS Tripoli, which serves as the flagship of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.

The U.S. Central Command announced this deployment in response to increasing military actions in the region.

The USS Tripoli, an amphibious assault ship capable of carrying F-35 stealth fighter jets, was previously based in Japan before its deployment to the Middle East. The situation has intensified following Iranian missile strikes that resulted in injuries to U.S. troops.

Concurrently, millions of Americans have protested against President Donald Trump's administration, marking the largest single-day demonstrations in U.S. history. These protests reflect widespread discontent with various policies, including military actions in Iran and domestic issues.
