Over 460,000 Households Benefit from Kwara Cash Transfer

The cash transfer program in Kwara State has successfully reached over 460,000 households, as announced during a work visit by Dr. Bernard M.

Doro, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Poverty Reduction. The event took place in Ilorin, where stakeholders and beneficiaries gathered to discuss the program's impact.

Dr. Doro praised Kwara State for its robust implementation framework for social protection, describing the cash transfer initiative as a critical pillar of Nigeria's poverty reduction strategy.

He emphasized the need for transparency and data-driven targeting to ensure support reaches vulnerable households. The program has already benefited 183,000 households in its first phase, with subsequent phases reaching 139,000 and 141,000 households, respectively.

Mariam Imam, the State Commissioner for Social Development, expressed hope that the program would continue to uplift families and restore dignity. The initiative aligns with Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's vision to strengthen social inclusion for orphans, vulnerable children, and disadvantaged groups.
