Overland Airways Accused of Price Discrimination on Lagos–Ilorin–Abuja Route

Consumer advocate groups have accused Overland Airways of price discrimination on the Lagos–Ilorin–Abuja flight route. The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) received a petition on August 4, 2025, alleging that the airline unfairly charges higher fares for passengers traveling shorter distances.

The petition, submitted by a law firm on behalf of two civil society organizations, claims that passengers traveling from Lagos to Ilorin are charged disproportionately higher fares compared to those traveling from Lagos to Abuja, despite the shorter distance. The petition argues that this pricing structure violates the FCCPC Act and places an undue financial burden on travelers.

Overland Airways has not yet responded to the allegations. The FCCPC has been urged to investigate and ensure fair pricing in the Nigerian aviation sector.
