Ovie Omo-Agege Declares Senate Bid for Delta Central

Ovie Omo-Agege, the former Deputy President of the Senate, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Delta Central Senatorial District seat in the upcoming 2027 elections. He will run under the banner of the Progressive Congress (APC).

Omo-Agege made this announcement during a meeting with APC leaders and stakeholders from the Ika South and Ika North East local government areas. He highlighted the APC's increasing dominance in Delta State, countering claims from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) that the APC has lost relevance.

Omo-Agege noted that despite the PDP's assertions, the APC has secured two senatorial seats and two House of Representatives seats in the state. He also mentioned the recent defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori from the PDP to the APC, indicating a significant political shift in the region.

Omo-Agege's candidacy reflects the APC's strategic positioning ahead of the 2027 elections.
