NDC Grants Waivers to Omo-Agege and Ochei for Senate

The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) has granted waivers to Ovie Omo-Agege, a former Deputy President of the Senate, and Victor Ochei, a former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, allowing them to contest for the Delta Central and Delta North Senate seats in the 2027 general elections. The party's statement, signed by Osa Director Esq., emphasized the political experience and grassroots influence of both politicians, expressing confidence in their ability to secure victory and provide quality representation for their respective senatorial districts.

However, the approval of these waivers has coincided with growing tensions within the NDC, as allegations have emerged regarding attempts to prevent other aspirants from participating in the ongoing primary elections. The party leadership has warned state chapters against denying clear aspirants access to the primary election process, declaring such actions null and void.

The NDC is preparing for various primaries scheduled across the country on May 29, 2026, in line with its constitutional guidelines.
