Oyebanji Urges Ekiti Leaders to Promote Peace Ahead of Elections

On a recent visit to Ikogosi, Ekiti State, Governor Biodun Oyebanji addressed community leaders, urging them to avoid inflammatory language that could undermine peace in the state as preparations for the June 20, 2026 governorship election begin. He stressed the need for calmness and responsible conduct among political actors and youth, highlighting that Ekiti has earned a reputation for orderly electoral conduct.

Oyebanji encouraged community leaders to play an active role in promoting peace and stability, advising them to engage youth positively and discourage any form of violence or provocative behavior. He noted that no one should seek to become governor through means that cause pain, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and peace.

Additionally, Oyebanji assured the community that work on the Ado Road would commence soon, pending the completion of necessary paperwork, and expressed appreciation for the support of the Alara Council and the entire Aramoko community in governance and development efforts.
