Oyetola Demands Accountability from Maritime Agency Heads

Adegboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, has firmly warned heads of maritime agencies to deliver measurable results and maintain strict accountability. This warning was issued during a retreat that coincided with the 2026 first quarter stakeholder engagement held in Lagos on Thursday.

Oyetola stressed the importance of performance-driven governance and highlighted that the performance bond signed during the retreat would bind the agencies to their commitments. He emphasized that this document is not merely ceremonial but will be rigorously monitored and evaluated.

The minister declared that accountability will not be optional, reinforcing the need for tangible results from the agencies under his purview.
