Oyinlola Joins Afenifere, Advocates Yoruba Unity

Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the former governor of Osun State, formally joined the apex Yoruba socio-cultural organization Afenifere on Tuesday. His induction took place during a meeting at the residence of Oba Oladipo Olaitan, the national leader of Afenifere.

Oyinlola highlighted that Yoruba sons should be members of Afenifere, noting that despite his previous affiliation with the People's Democratic Party (PDP), he values the relationship with Afenifere. He expressed concern over the current state of governance in Nigeria, stating that significant changes are necessary for the country to improve.

Oyinlola thanked Oba Olaitan for the recognition and honor of becoming a member of Afenifere. The meeting also included members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), with Goke Omigbodun, the chairman of Afenifere in Osun State, emphasizing the need for unity among political parties for the betterment of the community.

Other notable attendees included former deputy governor Kofoworola Bucknor-Akerele and several leaders from Afenifere and SDP.
