Oyo State Security Boosted with Special Forces Deployment

In response to recent kidnapping incidents in Oyo State, the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has ordered the deployment of special forces and advanced aerial surveillance assets.

This decision follows a series of abductions, including the kidnapping of 39 students and seven teachers in the Ahoro Esinel Community, where a teacher was reportedly killed. Maj.

Gen. Michael Onoja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, confirmed that operations have commenced to gather intelligence and maintain a relentless posture until the kidnappers are brought to justice.

The Armed Forces of Nigeria has acknowledged the security concerns in the region and expressed sympathy for affected families. Recent military operations have resulted in the arrest of 314 suspects, the killing of 118 terrorists, and the rescue of 221 kidnapped civilians nationwide.

The military has emphasized the importance of community collaboration in achieving operational success.
