Oyo APC Criticizes Makinde Over Opposition Summit

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) condemned Governor Seyi Makinde and other opposition leaders for their summit held in Ibadan on a Saturday, which aimed to strategize for dislodging the ruling APC in the upcoming 2027 elections. In a statement released by the party's public secretary, Olawal Sadar, the APC described the summit as "clownish" and asserted that neither President Bola Tinubu nor the APC was concerned about the gathering, which they deemed a waste of time.

The statement emphasized that the opposition lacked serious strategies to defeat the incumbent, with Sadar mocking the opposition's efforts as futile. Notable political figures from various opposition parties attended the summit, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former governors such as Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The APC asserted that the 2027 elections would be hitch-free and credible, dismissing any notion of unrest or violence affecting the electoral process.
