Oyo governor Seyi Makinde names housing estate after late APC lawmaker

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has named a housing estate after the late All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker, Prince Olaide Akinremi. Akinremi, who represented the Ibadan North federal constituency, passed away on July 10, 2019.

The estate, located in the GRA area of Ibadan, was unveiled by Makinde and his deputy, Bayo Lawal, on Thursday. The governor also announced the ongoing reconstruction of the Dominion University Road in Samonda, which will soon be completed.

Makinde stated that the decision to name the estate after Akinremi was not politically motivated, but a tribute to his contributions to Oyo state. The chairman of the Ibadan North LGA, Oluseun Olufade, praised Makinde for honoring Akinremi and urged other public office holders to learn from this gesture.
