APC Members in Oyo Dismiss Defection Rumors Ahead of 2027

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibadan South-East Local Government Area of Oyo State have publicly dismissed rumors suggesting they were planning to defect to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). During a visit to the APC state secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, on Friday, the group reaffirmed their commitment to the party and urged the public to disregard the false reports circulating on social media.

Mr Yusuf Bankole, the leader of the delegation, emphasized that Chief Bayo Adelabu remains a member of the APC and that there are no plans to leave the party. He described the rumors as offensive and ill-motivated.

The delegation received a warm reception from Oyo State APC chairman, Chief Moses Adeyemo, who expressed satisfaction with their visit and highlighted the party's focus on reconciliation and rebuilding efforts ahead of the 2027 elections. The delegation included notable members such as Chief Lukman Ayantola and Alhaji Rasheed Agarawu, while the APC Executive Committee was represented by Hon. Fatai Adesina and others.
