Oyo Monarch Oba Oyebola Rejects No-Confidence Vote Claims

Oba Sefiu Oyebola, the chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council in Oyo State, dismissed allegations regarding a no-confidence vote against traditional leadership as politically motivated. He issued a statement in Ibadan, emphasizing that the move lacked proper authorization and was not representative of the traditional institution.

The meeting where the vote was allegedly passed took place in Kajola Local Government Area, but Oyebola condemned it as a unilateral action against the leadership of the Aseyin. He warned traditional rulers in the region against unhealthy social media practices that could jeopardize peace and unity.

Oyebola asserted that the traditional rulers are committed to socio-economic development in Iseyinland and the wider Ok Ogun region, and he urged them to focus on collective interests rather than personal agendas. He refuted claims of postponing scheduled council meetings, explaining that decisions were made to enable members to attend empowerment programs organized by Senator Fatai Buhari from Ogbomoso.
