Oyo Police Rescue Baby Sold for N2 Million by Mother

The Oyo State Police Command rescued a one-month-old baby girl who was allegedly sold for N2 million. The suspects include the baby's mother, 23-year-old Cecilia Amos, and Dr Adeleke Ebenezer, 40, owner of Ebepraise Health Centre in Ido, Oyo State.
The incident was reported on October 15, 2026, by Mary Amos, who stated that her daughter gave birth on September 6, 2026, at the health facility. Mary reported that Cecilia disappeared with the baby about seven days after delivery and could not satisfactorily explain the child's whereabouts, raising suspicions of sale.
During police interrogation, Cecilia confessed that she was lured into the arrangement by Ebenezer and another suspect, Hassan Oludunni, who facilitated the sale to Odunayo Folawewo. The investigation revealed that Cecilia received N1 million from the sale, while Ebenezer and Oludunni allegedly received N500,000 each.
The police have rescued the baby and arrested the suspects, with ongoing efforts to apprehend Folawewo.
