Oyo Governor Makinde Ready to Engage Kidnappers

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde stated that his administration is prepared to listen to the grievances of the kidnappers who abducted seven students from a secondary school and 18 children along with seven teachers from First Baptist Primary Nursery School. This announcement was made during a press briefing in Ibadan, where he confirmed the abduction incident and the unfortunate killing of one person during the attack.

Makinde assured that the government would not surrender to terror but is willing to engage in dialogue to facilitate the swift and safe return of the victims. He disclosed that a surveillance aircraft, procured to enhance security along the Oyo-Kwara border and monitor operations, has arrived in Nigeria and is undergoing reassembly.

The governor urged the public and journalists to avoid sensationalism regarding the incident, emphasizing the need for citizen support for security agencies. He reiterated the commitment of his administration to ensure a secure environment for the people of Oyo State.
