Oyo Traffic Agency Trains Staff to Enhance Road Security

The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) held a training program aimed at equipping its personnel with skills to support security efforts across the state. The event took place at the Oyo State House Chief Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, and was led by Chairman Adekoya Adesagba.

The training focused on intelligence gathering to prevent crime, particularly in light of recent security challenges such as banditry and kidnappings in Ogbomoso and Ibadan. Adesagba highlighted the critical role traffic officers play in public security through daily interactions with motorists and road users.

He urged officers to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities rather than confront suspects directly. The training also included a reminder of the state government's restrictions on commercial motorcycles and tricycles from 10:30 PM to 5:30 AM to curb criminal activities.

The program was attended by various senior officials, including Deputy Director of Administration Supply, Olusola Akanmu, and emphasized the importance of collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and Amotekun Corps.
