Delta Police Arrest Seven More Suspects in Ozoro Assault

The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of seven more suspects linked to reports of sexual assault during the Ozoro festival in the Oramudu quarter of Ozoro. The arrests were made following a video that circulated on social media, showing men assaulting women during the festival, which sparked outrage among netizens demanding immediate action.

The police acted swiftly, arresting four suspects initially and later apprehending an additional seven, bringing the total number of suspects in custody to fifteen. The police's public relations officer, Bright Edaf, stated that the arrests were made based on thorough analysis of available video evidence and intelligence.

The Commissioner of Police for Delta State, Aina Adesola, condemned the acts of violence, emphasizing that they do not represent legitimate cultural practices. The police have reassured the public of their commitment to identifying, arresting, and prosecuting those involved in these criminal acts and encouraged victims and witnesses to come forward with credible information.
