Delta Police Arrest 15 in Ozoro Rape Festival Incident

The Delta State Police Force confirmed the arrest of 15 suspects in connection with a sexual assault incident that occurred during the Ozoro festival in Delta State. This update was provided on a Saturday through a statement from the police's new media office.

The police assured that investigations are ongoing and that justice will be served. Earlier, the Delta State Police Command had identified the chief organizer of the event, Chief Omored, and four other suspects from the Oramudu quarter in Ozoro.

They were arrested following an order from the Delta State Commissioner of Police for a full investigation into the viral video that showed a group of young men attacking women during the festival, forcibly tearing their clothes and subjecting them to various forms of molestation. The incident reportedly took place on Thursday, March 19, during an annual festival where women are often seen in public, and many were attacked as they failed to remain indoors.
